How to play Mega Millions?
- Each grand prize size is announced before tickets drawn go on sale in order to keep entrants informed about what they can win.
- For playing Mega Millions, 5 numbers must be chosen between 1 and 70 along with an additional number that is between 1 and 25 which is termed as a Mega Ball.
- Initial 5 numbers need not to be in any specific order.
- For winning the grand prize, you should select 6 winning numbers and the golden Mega Ball should also be the same.
- Just like Powerball, each kind of ball has its specific colour.
- Mega ball is of gold colour and 5 balls which are numbered from 1 to 70 are of white colour.
- $2 is the cost of the basic Mega Millions ticket.
- The Megaplier option is also offered by most states whose cost for tickets is $1 and keeps on multiplying any prize (not including the jackpot) won by you by a random number which is between 2 and 5.
- Megaplier’s value is drawn randomly at the same time when there is generation of winning numbers.
- You can also select your lottery numbers manually or can also use the quick pick option for letting the random generation of the numbers which are played by you in Mega Millions.
- On 28 October, 2017, just the jackpot ticket appeared which offered 2 tickets for only $3.

- Winning numbers of Mega Millions are drawn from 2 reels, one containing 25 balls and the other containing 70 balls.
- The Mega Ball is drawn through the second reel and from the first reel, the first 5 numbers are drawn.
- Megaplier’s level is determined by the seventh number drawn that ranges between two to five times of the prize’s value.
